IT’S TIME TO STAND UP! TO FIGHT BACK AGAINST ONLINE ABUSE!
On November 22, 2025, nearly 100 brave children and youth, including survivors of online abuse and labor trafficking, gathered in Davao at the 33rd Children’s Month Summit to demand one thing: A SAFE FUTURE for every child.
These young voices aren’t just participants—they are the future and the change-makers fighting against online sexual abuse, exploitation, and trafficking. With DSWD XI, Tambayan Center, and other concerned groups by their side, they turned fear into strength and silence into a powerful call for change.
Here’s what happened:
Learning to Protect Ourselves: We learned about the Anti-OSAEC Law and the Safety Spaces Act—how these laws can help keep children safe from online abuse and trafficking.
Workshops of Courage: Children and youth wrote down the 4 fundamental rights every child deserves—protection, participation, survival, and development—through imagery and saw how these rights form the very foundation of their safety.
Bonding Through Play: We connected with each other through fun activities, strengthening our ability to survive, protect, develop, and participate—because when we stand together, we are stronger.
Understanding Our Rights: We talked about the UNCRC (United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child) and reminded ourselves that every child deserves to be heard, respected, and protected.
A Survivor’s Powerful Words:
“Here, we felt strong—like a family. Together, we learned to speak up, to be brave, and most importantly, how to protect each other.”
But this isn’t just their fight—it’s OUR fight. We all have a role to play in protecting children and ending online abuse and trafficking.
