On January 29, 2026, at the Covered Court of Barangay 22-C, Davao City, the Tambayan Center for Children’s Rights hosted a powerful Children’s Dialogue and Inter-Agency Consultation, bringing together children, parents, local government units, and partner agencies to listen, learn, and act on the real-life struggles of our young ones.
A heart-touching theatre performance by IDOL Theatre Group, portraying the stories of children deprived of education, family, and basic rights. Lines like “Naririnig nyo ba kami?” resonated deeply, leaving both children and adults inspired to act.
Agencies including DEPED, CSWDO, CHO, SOCC, CCRO, Hon. Pamela Librado -Murata, representative from the office of Councillor Che-Che Apostol and local barangay official from Barangay 22- C responded with practical solutions – from educational assistance and family support to birth registration and child protection programs. Children bravely raised their voices, asking questions about school access, safety, livelihood, and abuse, and were met with answers, guidance, and open doors for future support.
Key takeaways from the day:
Children’s voices are powerful – when heard, they guide meaningful action.
Collaboration across agencies, government, NGOs, and families is essential to protect and empower every child.
Every child deserves a chance to grow in safety, learn without fear, and dream without limits.
The event concluded with the signing of “Ang Among mga Panaad”, a promise of commitment from children and agencies alike to uphold and protect children’s rights in Davao City.
Special thanks to Barangay 22-C for providing the venue and making this impactful gathering possible.
Let’s continue to work together as a whole community – because when children speak, we all must listen.
