The whole day meeting was attended by representatives from the Special Office for Children’s Concerns (SOCC), CSWDO, City Civil Registrar’s Office, the PNP-WCPD, SK kagawad and BCPC members from Brgys. 22-C, Brgy. 76-A and Brgy. Talomo.
The attendees actively discussed how the strategic plan can be localized in Davao City so as to reduce the number of street children and improve the delivery of services to them and their families. Concrete suggestions were made in relation to birth registration, integrated templates for profiling of families, SK engagement, and improved monitoring of implementation of the Comprehensive Barangay Juvenile Intervention Program.
The meeting ended with high hopes that the systemic causes of children being lured to the streets would be addressed.
